This Privacy Policy explains how ScamPageFinder ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use scampagefinder.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

ScamPageFinder does not require user registration and does not collect personally identifiable information directly. However, the following data may be processed when you use the Service:

Domain queries

When you submit a domain for analysis, that domain name is transmitted to our backend API (a Cloudflare Worker) to retrieve publicly available WHOIS, DNS, SPF, DMARC, and HTTP header data. We do not store domain queries linked to any user identity. Query results are returned in real time and not retained in a user database.

Technical log data

Standard server log data — including IP address, browser type, referring URL, and page visited — may be automatically collected by our infrastructure providers (Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare Workers). This data is used for security, abuse prevention, and performance monitoring, and is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We do not access or process this data at the application level.

Local storage (browser)

The Service uses your browser's localStorage to store your recent domain searches and cookie consent preference. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to our servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

2. Cookies and Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may place cookies on your device:

Advertising Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the Service. Google AdSense uses the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising at any time via Google Ad Settings or the NAI opt-out page. Where you have not consented to personalised advertising, we serve non-personalised ads only.

Affiliate NordVPN Affiliate Program

The Service contains affiliate links to NordVPN (via /go/protection). If you click these links, NordVPN and its affiliate network may place tracking cookies on your device in accordance with NordVPN's Privacy Policy. We may earn a commission if you purchase a subscription through these links. This does not affect the price you pay.

Infrastructure Cloudflare

Our website and API are hosted on Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may set security-related cookies (e.g., __cf_bm) for bot detection and DDoS mitigation. These are strictly necessary cookies that do not require consent under most privacy frameworks.

3. Cookie Consent

When you first visit the Service, a cookie consent banner is displayed. You can choose to:

  • Accept all cookies — personalised advertising via Google AdSense is activated.
  • Non-personalised only — Google AdSense will serve contextual ads without using your browsing history for targeting. No personalised advertising cookies are set.

Your consent preference is stored in your browser's localStorage. You can change it at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or site data for scampagefinder.com.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process personal data on the following legal bases:

Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) Personalised advertising via Google AdSense, where you have opted in via the consent banner.
Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) Security logging, abuse prevention, service operation, and non-personalised advertising.
Necessary (Art. 6(1)(b)) Processing domain queries to deliver the requested analysis results.

You may withdraw consent for personalised advertising at any time via the Google Ad Settings link above. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

ScamPageFinder does not maintain a database of user queries or personal data at the application level. Specifically:

  • Domain queries are processed in real time and not stored.
  • Browser localStorage data (recent searches, consent preference) is stored locally on your device and is fully under your control.
  • Infrastructure-level logs (Cloudflare) are governed by Cloudflare's retention policy (typically 30 days for standard logs).
  • Advertising data is governed by Google's data retention policies.
  • Affiliate tracking data is governed by NordVPN's data retention policies.

7. Data Transfers Outside the EEA

Some of our third-party providers (Google, Cloudflare, NordVPN) may transfer and process data outside the European Economic Area. These transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. For details, refer to each provider's privacy policy.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in EEA jurisdictions where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Service, please contact us at support@scampagefinder.com and we will take appropriate action.

9. Third-Party Links

The Service contains links to third-party websites (including NordVPN and affiliate tracking URLs). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit through links on our Service.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
